Karim Benzema will leave Real Madrid after the end of the season. Former French player will be turning to the homeland after nine years. Reportedly two clubs will fight for his signature, Lyon and PSG.
Lyon’s president, a club where Benzema started his career, Jean-Michel Ola, admitted that he was in talks about returning the attacker, but that the problem was his salary.
“Of course, it would be fantastic to return to the club,” said Ola, adding.
“We talked last summer because he was thinking about leaving. We could not financially respond to his demands. We tried to think with his manager, but we did not find a solution”.
Benzema still stayed in Real and this season, which may be the last in a white jersey for him.
The interest in the 31-year-old striker does not hide in Paris, and it is certain that PSG would not have a problem to satisfy his financial appetites.
Karim Benzema has played 456 games and scored 214 goals for Real. With the club he won 17 trophies.
